Your Fish is on a roll... don't stop now!
At Long Island Swim School we have found that consistency is the most important factor when learning to swim. Children who take lessons year round improve faster than those who swim just two or three sessions a year. Why? Muscle memory!
Yes, learning to swim requires your child to learn which skills they should do. But more importantly they need to practice those skills. When a movement is repeated over time motor learning occurs and long-term muscle memory is created for that skill. Eventually the skill becomes automatic and the child no longer needs to think about what they are doing… it just happens naturally!
Don't take a break when your child’s muscles could be learning to swim! Take lessons year round and with enough consistent practice your child will be swimming in no time!
